Emerson Sowder grand daughter 7, Kai Maness 2 grandson Brief bio of my life:I was a paramedic/adjunct instructor (Univ. of Alabama) and deputy coroner in Tuscaloosa County in the 1980s and then switched to a law enforcement career after returning home to Asheville, NC in 1990. For the next 22 years I was a sheriff's officer assigned as a forensic/crime scene detective. I retired in July 2012 but am still very active and teach some and perform protective services with other law enforcement officers on the side as a side-line business. I also work with private law firms as an investigator here in NC. I took the last five years to write a book on what it is like to perform as a detective without all the Hollywood hype. It details the good, bad and ugliness of police investigations and is titled, "Out of the Blue". It will be published after some legal review. I married Sarah Kathleen Allison in 1998 who is from Knoxville, Tennessee and the absolute love of my life. Life is great here in the mountains of North Carolina.
